My name is Caitlin Walls. I am an art therapist and painter working out of the Wilmington, Delaware area. I studied in Portland, Oregon for 4 years and recently moved back to my home state of Delaware.
As an art therapist, my approach to therapy is first and foremost client-centered. I believe that the client is the expert of their own lifeβs story and my job is to utilize art to guide and assist them along this path. I believe providing psychoeducation in combination with CBAT (cognitive behavioral art therapy), attachment theory, and mindfulness provides structure and direction throughout the healing process while providing a safe environment to explore emotions.
As an artist, I take my approach as an art therapist and apply it to my internal reflection and personal exploration within my artwork. This has lead me to develop a style of creating that is color based and kinesthetically involved. Allowing to me to engage my mind and body into expressing and processing internal emotions by means of externalization.
